Miss Laura has been apart of Stoney Brook Dance Company since 2004 teaching Hip Hop, Jazz and Musical Theatre. She will not be with us on a weekly schedule this year, but is excited to be coming back for the 2008-2009 season as a Workshop instructor! She received her training from the Canadian College of Performing Arts in Victoria, B.C, as well as at the University of Winnipeg where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Theatre and Drama. She studies voice with Donna Fletcher. Performing credits include the lead as Lunette the Clown, in a national children's musical "The Big Comfy Couch Live Onstage", in which she spent a summer touring in Korea! She has also been involved with, and performed in, musicals with the Winnipeg Jewish Theatre and Rainbow Stage. Miss Laura has also toured in many other children's musicals, such as "Little Bear", "Franklin" and "Caillou". Miss Laura has also been a featured dancer in recording artist Jackie Shaw's music videos. Miss Laura is very excited to be working with all SBDC students in many workshops throughout the dance season! |
