Teacher's Assistant Program

SBDC's Teacher's Assistant Program is available to students 12 & up with dance experience.

We offer the TA program in 3 stages:

Demonstrator
Assistant Instructor
Student Teacher

Teacher's assistants participate in a younger class at least once week and help the Instructor with
demonstrating dance steps and recital dances, helping with shoe tying, water breaks, bathroom breaks
and attendance.  They become mentors for our youngest students!

This is a wonderful opportunity for our older students to get a peak into the life of a dance teacher,
and the chance to help our younger students progress in their own dancing.

Assistants must be actively training in the discipline they are helping in,
and must have regular attendance in both their own classes, and assistant classes.

Students that are interested must fill out an application form at the end of the 2007-2008 dance season.

For more information, please contact Karla Coldwell, or ask your dance instructor.
